Se corta una peque\u00f1a abertura en el hueso y se empuja hacia arriba la membrana que recubre el seno. El espacio subyacente se rellena con <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loveyourjaws.com\/news\/about-bone-grafting\/\" data-type=\"news\" data-id=\"928\">material de injerto \u00f3seo<\/a>, ya sea del propio cuerpo del paciente o de otras fuentes. A veces se utilizan materiales sint\u00e9ticos que imitan la formaci\u00f3n \u00f3sea. Despu\u00e9s de implantar el hueso, se sutura la incisi\u00f3n y comienza el proceso de cicatrizaci\u00f3n. Si no hay suficiente hueso disponible, primero deber\u00e1 realizarse la elevaci\u00f3n de seno y despu\u00e9s el injerto deber\u00e1 madurar durante varios meses, dependiendo del tipo de material de injerto utilizado.
