FIRST VISIT

“Trust Your care to the Specialists in Jaw Surgery and Robotic Dental Implant Reconstruction”

We consider your first appointment with our practice to be an important educational visit for both the patient and the practice. We use this time to truly listen to your concerns and expectations while taking the necessary time to educate you with accurate information about your condition and effective treatment plans.

During your appointment, Dr. Kroum Dimitrov will personally discuss the surgical and anesthetic procedures involved in your upcoming procedure while providing a custom treatment solution that best fits your individual needs. This personal touch and attention to detail helps to put our patients at ease during their treatment.

Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to allow time to complete your new patient paperwork, if you have not previously done so via our website www.loveyourjaws.com under patient registration. Doing this ahead of time will minimize your registration process in our office and maximize your time with the doctor.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • A surgical referral slip and any x-rays if applicable.
  • A list of medications you are currently taking.
  • A copy of your Dental Insurance Card.
  • A valid identification card.

We try our best to stay on schedule to minimize your wait. Due to the fact that Dr. Kroum Dimitrov provides many types of oral surgery services, various circumstances may lengthen the time allocated for consultations and for certain surgical procedures. Although infrequent, patients presenting with acute painful conditions in need of urgent care may cause delays in our schedule. In these instances, we will contact you in advance to minimize any inconvenience. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, pregnancy, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, bisphosphonates, etc.).

An additional consultation may be scheduled for some patients prior to surgery depending on what the doctor deems necessary to evaluate your surgical needs. In some cases a medical clearance will need to be obtained from your primary physician.

X-Rays

Knapp,Mary_PanoIf your dentist or physician has taken x-rays or CT-scan in the last 12 months, you may request that they forward them to our office via email. If there is not enough time for receipt of these x-rays prior to your appointment, you may pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
