Unlike local numbing or light sedation, general anesthesia induces a state of “controlled sleep.” You will be completely unconscious, unaware of the procedure, and will have no memory of the surgery once you wake up.

Preparing for Your Procedure

To ensure the highest level of safety, patients receiving general anesthesia must follow these strict guidelines:

1. Fast for 8 Hours: No food or drink (including water) for at least 8 hours prior to surgery.
2. Bring a Driver: You must have a responsible adult accompany you, stay in the office during surgery, and drive you home.
