We don't want you waiting. We prioritize patients with acute pain, infection, or impacted teeth and will work to see you quickly. For emergency tooth extraction in Miami, same-day and next-day appointments are often available.
At Love Your Jaws, we provide comprehensive tooth extraction services designed to relieve pain, eliminate infection, and protect your long-term oral health. Our experienced oral surgery team treats a wide range of conditions, from severely damaged teeth and advanced decay to complex extractions requiring specialized surgical care.
A tooth extraction is a dental procedure performed to remove a tooth from its socket when it can no longer be saved or when keeping it may negatively impact surrounding teeth and oral structures.
A professional dental extraction may be necessary because of severe decay,
advanced infection, trauma, overcrowding, impacted teeth, or periodontal
disease. While many extractions are straightforward, others require advanced
surgical techniques and specialized expertise.
At Love Your Jaws, we provide a full range of extraction services,
including wisdom tooth extraction, advanced procedures for impacted
teeth, and comprehensive treatment planning for future tooth replacement
when necessary. During your consultation, X-rays help determine whether
extraction is needed and what the treatment may cost.
Many patients searching for a tooth extraction dentist near me are often
experiencing discomfort and need timely care from an experienced oral
surgery team. Our practice focuses on delivering efficient treatment
while prioritizing patient comfort and long-term oral health.
When a tooth is removed, patients typically experience:
Relief from acute pain, pressure, or swelling, often within 24–48 hours
Resolution of infection before it spreads to neighboring teeth or bone
Protection of adjacent teeth from further crowding, decay, or structural damage
A clear path forward, whether that's monitoring, a bridge, or an implant consultation
Individual recovery varies. Dr. Dimitrov will walk you through your specific case at the consultation.
Why Your Dentist Sent You to an Oral Surgeon, Not Just Any Dentist
Some tooth extractions are straightforward. Others require specialist-level surgical training that goes beyond general dentistry. Three things matter for complex cases:
Specialist surgical training
4+ years of hospital-based oral & maxillofacial surgery residency at UM / Jackson Memorial, well beyond standard dental school.
In-house anesthesia
Dr. Dimitrov is board-certified in dental anesthesiology, so in most cases your IV sedation is delivered and monitored by your surgeon rather than a separate provider.
Hospital privileges
Affiliated with Baptist Hospital and Doctors Hospital for cases that need an OR or a higher level of care.
Cases we routinely handle that general dentists refer out: impacted teeth, ankylosed (fused) teeth, curved or fragile roots, fractured teeth, and extractions near the inferior alveolar nerve or maxillary sinus.
You're in the right place. We handle the surgical cases that need specialist training, then communicate findings back to your primary dentist so your care stays coordinated.
For dentists
Same-day consults available for urgent referrals. Complex surgical cases (impactions, ankylosis, third molars with nerve proximity) are handled in our South Miami surgery center under IV sedation.
Board Certified by American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS)
There are many oral surgeons in Miami-Dade. Here's what makes the difference at Love Your Jaws.

IV sedation means you won't feel a thing, and, just as important, you won't remember it.
One expert, fully responsible for safety throughout, a meaningfully higher standard than practices that bring in a separate sedation provider or use oral sedation only.
Effective pain management after oral surgery should not carry a dependency risk. Our default protocol replaces narcotic prescriptions with a combination of non-opioid medications and anti-inflammatory agents supported by clinical evidence. If a stronger option is medically appropriate, Dr. Dimitrov will discuss it with you directly.
What this means for you
Clinically supported non-narcotic protocol

What this means for your family
A protocol designed with parents in mind

I had a 2x wisdom tooth removal and a coronectomy done here. The level of patient care from the entire office was better than I’ve had anywhere else. The front desk staff, Valerie and Milli, were great with response time, appointment booking and follow up. They also helped me get financing for my procedure and get a quote from my insurance company even though they were out of network. Dr. Dimitrov explained things very well and it’s clear that his #1 priority is quality patient care. He took the time to explain things that weren’t part of the procedure but were still important for my overall health. Jocelyn was also very kind and helpful throughout the process. The surgery and recovery process themselves were very comfortable and there was minimal pain or complications.

The entire staff was kind, professional, and incredibly attentive. The doctor was amazing. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions, and never made me feel rushed. The IV sedation went so smoothly that the procedure felt effortless from my perspective. You can truly tell that the doctor cares about his patients. I’m so grateful for the excellent care I received and would highly recommend Dr. Dimitrov to anyone needing oral surgery. Thank you for making such a stressful experience so much easier!

One trusted specialist. Honest answers. No surprises.
01
Consultation & Plan
We review your X-rays (or take 3D imaging if needed), discuss anesthesia options, and walk you through exactly what to expect, including realistic recovery and cost. Most consultations are scheduled within 5 business days; sooner for acute pain.
02
Your Procedure
Once you're fully numb, or comfortably sedated if you've chosen IV sedation, Dr. Dimitrov gently and precisely removes the tooth. You may notice some pressure or movement, but you should not feel pain. We check in throughout, and pause immediately if you need a moment.
03
Recovery & Follow-Up
You leave with clear written aftercare instructions, a non-opioid-first pain management plan, and our office number for any questions. Most patients are comfortable within 24–48 hours and return to normal activities within a few days.
Common questions about the procedure, recovery, and cost. Tap any question to expand.
One of the most common concerns patients have is discomfort during treatment, and our focus is on a smooth experience with minimal discomfort.
Modern extraction techniques are designed to minimize pain and maximize comfort. While many patients worry about tooth extraction pain, most procedures are performed using local anesthetic to numb the area, along with effective sedation options that allow for a comfortable experience.
For more complex cases, including impacted wisdom teeth and surgical procedures, we may recommend deep sedation tooth extraction to help patients remain relaxed throughout treatment.
At Love Your Jaws, patient comfort is always one of our highest priorities. Dr. Kroum Dimitrov is recognized by many patients as one of the leading oral surgeons in Miami because of his gentle approach and commitment to exceptional patient care.
Advanced periodontal (gum) disease destroys the bone and tissue that hold a tooth in place. When a tooth becomes severely loose or the supporting bone is too damaged to save it, tooth extraction may be the most predictable way to protect your remaining oral health.
Removing a hopeless tooth can stop the spread of infection, relieve pain, and preserve bone for a future dental implant or other replacement option.
During your consultation, we evaluate the tooth, the surrounding bone, and your overall periodontal health to determine whether extraction or another treatment is the better path.
The duration depends on the tooth's location, the condition of its roots, and whether the case is simple or surgical.
A simple extraction of a single tooth often takes only a few minutes once the area is numb. More complex surgical extractions, such as impacted, fractured, or curved-root teeth, may take longer.
Our team uses digital planning and modern techniques to keep treatment efficient while maintaining exceptional standards of safety and precision. Patients in acute pain may also benefit from same-day tooth extraction when immediate treatment is clinically appropriate.
Following your tooth extraction aftercare instructions carefully is the best way to support healing and reduce complications.
Bite gently on the gauze provided to help a blood clot form, rest for the remainder of the day, and apply a cold compress to limit swelling. Avoid smoking, drinking through a straw, and vigorous rinsing for the first several days, as these can dislodge the clot.
You'll leave with clear written instructions, a non-opioid-first pain management plan, and our office number for any questions that come up.
Most patients feel noticeably better within 24–48 hours and return to normal daily activities within a few days, though full healing of the socket continues over several weeks.
Some swelling and mild discomfort during the first few days is normal and generally peaks early before improving. Recovery varies depending on the complexity of the extraction and your overall health.
Our team provides personalized instructions and follow-up care to help you heal comfortably at home.
Soft foods are recommended during the first few days. Yogurt, mashed potatoes, smoothies, scrambled eggs, soups, applesauce, and soft pasta are commonly suggested options.
Avoid crunchy, spicy, hard, or extremely hot foods, and skip straws, which can dislodge the protective blood clot.
Staying hydrated and gradually returning to your normal diet as the site heals contributes to a smoother recovery.
The final tooth extraction cost depends on the number of teeth, the complexity of the extraction, whether the tooth is impacted, and whether sedation is needed.
Insurance may reduce out-of-pocket expenses in some cases, and we review PPO plans for applicable benefits before treatment. For patients comparing affordable tooth extraction in Miami, we believe in transparency.
Because every case is unique, an accurate estimate can only be provided after a comprehensive evaluation, and we provide a written estimate before any procedure begins, so there are no surprises.
Yes. A dental implant is one of the most durable, natural-looking ways to replace an extracted tooth.
In some cases, a bone graft is placed at the time of extraction to preserve the socket and prepare the site for a future implant. Dr. Dimitrov can plan your extraction with implant placement in mind so your replacement options stay open.
We'll discuss whether immediate or staged implant placement is right for you based on the health of the surrounding bone and gums.
Dry socket can occur when the protective blood clot becomes dislodged or fails to form properly after an extraction. While relatively uncommon, it can cause significant discomfort.
Symptoms may include intense pain a few days after surgery, a visible empty socket, an unpleasant taste, bad breath, and discomfort that radiates toward the ear or jaw.
Following your aftercare instructions, especially avoiding smoking, straws, and vigorous rinsing, significantly reduces the risk. If you notice these symptoms, contact our office promptly so we can help.

Common questions. Honest answers.
That's your choice. Many extractions are comfortably completed with local anesthesia while you're awake but fully numb. For more complex cases or for patients who feel anxious, IV sedation lets you be in a deeply relaxed, sleep-like state, delivered and monitored by Dr. Dimitrov himself.
Often, yes. We prioritize patients with acute pain, infection, or impacted teeth, and same-day and next-day appointments are frequently available. Call us and we'll work to see you as quickly as possible.
Yes. Complex cases are exactly what an oral surgeon is trained for. Dr. Dimitrov routinely handles impacted, ankylosed (fused), fractured, and curved-root teeth, as well as extractions near the inferior alveolar nerve or maxillary sinus, with hospital privileges available for cases that need a higher level of care.
If your extraction is performed under local anesthesia only, you can usually drive yourself home. If you choose IV sedation, you'll need a responsible adult to drive you, since the effects of sedation take time to wear off.
Smoking should be avoided during the healing period because it can interfere with blood clot formation, delay recovery, and significantly increase the risk of developing dry socket. We recommend avoiding tobacco for as long as possible after your procedure.
You can usually brush the rest of your teeth gently the same day, but avoid the extraction site for the first 24 hours. After that, brush carefully around the area and follow any rinsing instructions we provide to keep the site clean without disturbing the clot.
Signs of infection may include fever, persistent or worsening swelling, pus or discharge, a bad taste or odor, and pain that increases rather than improves after a few days. If you notice any of these, contact our office promptly so we can evaluate and treat it early.
Plan to rest for the remainder of the day and avoid strenuous activity for the first 24–48 hours, as exertion can increase bleeding and swelling. Most patients ease back into light activity within a few days and resume normal exercise once the site is healing well.
Untreated impactions can increase the risk of infection, cyst formation, bone damage, gum disease, and crowding or damage to neighboring teeth. Early diagnosis and treatment help reduce complications and protect your long-term oral health.
Yes. In many cases, all four wisdom teeth can be removed during a single procedure. This allows patients to go through the recovery process once instead of scheduling multiple surgeries.
Some extractions, particularly surgical or impacted cases, require stitches, while simple extractions often do not. When stitches are needed, dissolvable sutures are commonly used and naturally disappear as healing progresses.
Patients trust Love Your Jaws because of our advanced technology, personalized treatment planning, and the expertise of Dr. Kroum Dimitrov, one of the leading oral surgeons in Miami. We focus on providing safe, comfortable, and efficient treatment, for everything from wisdom teeth to complex surgical extractions, with exceptional patient care.
